💔 Found alone in the rain
Maggie was found lying helpless in the rain. She was starving, in severe pain, and had a large wound on her back that was badly infested with maggots.
She was so frightened that nobody could get close to her, until our rescue team, working with the local municipality, brought her safely to the vet for urgent medical care.
🏥 Her treatment so far
- Intensive wound cleaning and care
- Antibiotics, IV fluids and vitamins
- Heartworm treatment, after she tested positive for heartworm disease
❤️ A fighter
After everything she has been through, Maggie is fighting hard. She is eating on her own, she can stand again, and she has started taking her first steps. ❤️
🐾 The road ahead
Maggie still has a long road to recovery: more wound care, the full course of heartworm treatment, check-ups, good food and a safe, warm place to heal. We cannot do it without you.
